Simple Sunday & Weekend Recap

Can't believe another weekend has flown by! I hope you all had a great one.

One of the highlights of my weekend was being able to judge my 1st pageant. My little sis was asked to help out at the Elkton (MD) Fall Fest this Saturday. The director of the event also asked if I was interested in judging. Of course I accepted with great pleasure! I had such a wonderful time and the contestants all did so well. I truly feel the girls who won deserved it. Both winners were poised and were genuinely nice girls.

*The outfit I wore Saturday*

I also attended church today and enjoyed family dinner afterwards. For the most part, I was relaxed while dressing this weekend. With the weather changing, I am still in the midst of changing my wardrobe from summer to fall. This afternoon, I threw on some comfy pants and a cute top, both from Target. Most, if not all of my jewelry is thrifted

*I can see a little bit of my work out paying off in these pics...YAY!!!*

All in all, the weekend was pretty good. As I type I'm watching the Ravens game, hoping they come back and win this game against the Patriots. My boo is next to me yelling at the screen and telling me what they're doing wrong. As if I don't know, LOL!

Have a good night and I wish you a productive and blessed Monday. TTYS!

Mother's Day Weekend in Pictures

Hey everyone!! How was your Mother's Day Weekend?? I hope you were able to spend time with your mother's, grandmother's and/or any woman in your life whom you love & adore.

As I said in my last post, my weekend was pretty busy. Between a business breakfast/trade-show, lil sis' pageant, a graduation party, Mother's Day, ...I was just all over the  place. I'm sure if you follow me through other social media outlets, you can tell, LOL. Also, if you follow me on those other places, you know that my little sister walked away this weekend with another crown & title. She is the 1st Miss Miracles Sweetheart!!! I  tell ya, she is on a roll---she also won Best Resume. We are just so proud of her dedication and perseverance since she starting doing pageants last August. This title (Miss Miracles Sweetheart) was so important to her because it was a charity pageant. Taylor is so passionate about helping people, especially the senior citizens, that earning this title will allow her to help even MORE people in her community. Needless to say my mother was tickled pink that all this happen on Mother's Day Weekend. That was one of her fave gifts---seeing her daughter earn another title that she'd worked so hard for. (You can see more pageant goodies, HERE)

Speaking of Mother's Day, the fam and I enjoyed a DELICIOUS brunch and then went home and relaxed the rest of the afternoon/evening. That's exactly what Mom wanted to do so that's what we did ;-)

Enjoy the pics and I will be back to posting some outfits and whatnot later on in the week. Be blessed!!

PS Don't forget you can keep up with me via-Facebook, Twitter & Instagram too ;-)

Winning Weekend, Part I!

Happy Monday to everyone!! I hope your weekend was wonderful! Mine was extremely busy, but AMAZING nonetheless. The highlight was definitely my little sister winning the 2012 - 2013 International Jr. Miss Maryland Princess title. She also won the following; (1) Academic Achievement, (2) Spirit Award (3) Volunteer Service (4) Program Ad Sales (5) Talent (6) Casual Wear , AND (7) Best Gown. WHEW!!!! Can you say #WINNING!!!! ;-)

She was just lovely the entire weekend; her whole demeanor....She worked so hard and studied for months, as well as practiced extremely hard with her tap dance routine. All while exceeding in her academics! I don't know how she does it; straight A's, dances, does fashion shows, and pageants. And now as a title holder, she has a very busy year ahead of her! But there is no doubt in my mind that she will do exceptionally well with all she has ahead of her. Taylor NEVER lets anything get in her way, and we have all taught her the importance of dedication, politeness, and professionalism. Yes, even at this tender age, professionalism. She carried herself  like a lady the whole weekend, smiling and shaking hands. I was just so proud. If you follow on Instagram (msnicjames), Twitter and Facebook, you can attest to my #proudsister rants, LOL!

All in all, my family and I are happy that she won the title. We are a tight family, and we have her back through anything. She decided she wanted to participates in pageants, and we said hey....if she does well and makes it, we are ALL in this. All or nothing is out family motto.

Enjoy the pics, and thanks to EVERYONE who sent a congrats message via-social media. It means so much to me and yes, Taylor thanks you as well ;-)

~Nic

PS Part II of my Winning Weekend coming next...stay tuned!!! ;-)
