Be Still

Happy Thursday all!

Today's post features non other than, ME! LOL...it's been a while since I've done an outfit post so I am super excited to post this one. I wore this outfit to my friends Bridal Shower (see story HERE) and won best dressed :-) The theme was Sex and the City and I decided to dress 'like' Miranda. I feel that my dress is somewhat Miranda-ish. During the last season of the show, she really came into her own as far as style and she wore a lot of color, patterns, dresses and heels. So this is why I decided to go with this dress. What do you think? Miranda enough for you??

Before I go, I just want to share something. I attended Tuesday Night prayer this week and I feel compelled to share a bit of what touched me that night. As I sat there in the huge auditorium, there were people around me of all different races and backgrounds yet there was something we all had in common. At one point or another, we felt tired, worn out and stressed. Different people shared their prayer requests and prayer testimonies with the group and while listening, I began to realize that people in this world are really burnt out. Times are tough and stress levels are ridiculously high. As a result, people are getting divorced, suffering from depression, stress or worse. The minister had us sit in meditation/prayer towards the end of the service and all that you heard was the sound of the organ. I sat there...still. Quiet; making my prayer request known to God and tearing up while praying for others. I was able to really take the time and talk to God. And as the tears flowed, I knew He was listening. I was definitely in His presence. The whole day had gone by and that was the first time I'd taken to really sit and talk and focus on Him. It was powerful and it was something that I realized I needed to do more of.

Sometimes taking time out to just sit and focus on Him can calm us. We live in a world with constant movement and we all need to slow down. It doesn't matter if you take time to pray, sit in silence with the TV off, put your laptop and phone away for 30 mins...whatever it is, being still is so necessary.  Take time out of each day for yourself. Even if its 15 minutes, do it! Don't let this world drive you crazy and don't let this world get the best of you.

Be still, and know that I am God... Psalm 46:10

FBF: Sex & the City

Hey friends!!! The weekend is upon us yet again and I am SUPER excited to get this one started. Why?? Well, my birthday is tomorrow!!! I am always excited for my birthday---to me it's like my 'new year'. I can't wait to spend the day with my honey, and my family.

Today's FBF post is Sex in the City inspired. I know my fellow BLM Girls have seen me ask about this put I wanted to bring it to my blog page. My good friend Bre is having a bridal shower in a few weeks and the theme is, Sex and the City. We were asked to come dressed as our favorite character and a prize would be given to the best dressed. I could go ALL out for this, and as competitive as I am I just might, but for the moment I am trying thinking of two particular looks. My fave character is Miranda because I love her masculine inspired looks in the earlier shows, as well as her edge yet chic looks throughout the movies. I looked on the web and found two looks that I can easily recreate with things in my closet. Using Polyvore, I recreated them into my own looks.

What do you think? Any suggestions?? Any looks that Miranda wore that YOU think I should try??? Let me know. For now, enjoy the post and I will ttys!!! Be blessed...

Flowers, Neon & Facebook Friday...a Day Early

Happy Thursday and TG(its almost)F ;-) I want to first thank Lynn (L A Lynn's) for collaborating with my for my Mother's Day Giveaway. The winner was Brittany from, Midweek Escape. THANK you for entering and I know you're mom will LOVE the pearls!!!

Toady's post is an outfit that I absolutely love! Wait, haven't I said that in my last few posts??? LOL Anyway, as I've said before, I'm beginning to embrace color more and more and I am truly happy about that. This dress is SO colorful and pretty and the added neon cardigan gives it that extra pop! I actually plan to wear this outfit tomorrow for a business breakfast but, decided to post the pics a day early. I have an extremely busy weekend coming up and I won't be able to post that much. I knew I wanted to share the outfit though so I said hey, posting my outfit of the day a day early won't hurt.

I am also including Facebook Friday in this post as well so this post is a bit picture heavy (forgive me), LOL.  Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy all the pics. Have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I plan to update there as my weekend progresses...XO!

Pin-spirations

Morning loves, rise & shine :-) I hope you had a good Monday! Below are pics that I've gathered, thanks to Pinterest, that I've seen and 'pinned' over the past few weeks. I am quickly becoming addicted to pinning, as are most of my fellow blogger and friends. It's the best! Are any of YOU on Pinterest? What are some of you fave pins?? I find myself pulling out my phone to see what I pinned while I'm shopping...it's wonderful inspiration while on-the-go! I separated the pics into categories and for one reason or another, when I saw the pics, I was instantly inspired. Feel free to follow me on Pinterest, HERE. I also share some of my pins HERE as well so take you pick or follow me both places ;-) Enjoy and have a blessed day ;-)

Facebook Friday

So I am back with, Facebook Fridays! Last week it totally slipped my mind but I'm back on it! On my Facebook page, my two fave looks of the day this week were Tracee Ellis Ross and Kim Kardashian. One look is super casual and the other, a bit fancy. I LOVE them both but I actually wish I had some of Tracee's  pieces so in order to recreate the look. However, Polyvore will do for now. I did however have similar pieces to recreate the Kim K. look. The turquoise pants were a few dollars form the Salvation Army and they were a must have! How'd I do?? LOL...I am really loving colorful bottoms this season---color is beginning to be my bff ;-)

Enjoy the pics and don't forget to check out my looks of the day HERE! Also, if you have any looks, let me konw. I've LOVE to recrate them via Polyvore (or maybe myself). XXOO!!

Orange & Spots

Hey everyone :-) Hope you all stayed nice and warm today, seeing as how the temps were nice and chilly. I was happy that I was able to wear my orange pea coat from Old Navy today. It is one of my favorite Fall/Winter coats and the price was GREAT ($25.00).

Quick story behind the jacket: When I saw it on the sale rack last season, I knew I had to have it. When I got to the register, it rang regular price. After I explained to the lady I got it from the sale rack and that there were others there like it, she honored the mark down and bam! the jacket was about 50%. WINNING!! ;-)

The top I am wearing is the first time I'm wearing it. I showed the item here in a post a few months back. Pairing those pieces with my Fergie flats and favorite jeans, I was nice and cozy (and cute) today ;-)

Enjoy the look and take care! Thanks in advance for the comments :-)

Hey friends! Not much of an explanation for this post but I will say Wednesday's weather was right up my alley. It was about 75-80 degrees and windy. Just lovely! So I decided to throw on some color and made it a great day. Enjoy!
