Weekend Fun!!

HELLO everyone!!! I am so glad to be blogging again. It seems like my page has been thru some stuff these last few days. I wil spare you the details, lol...but I do want to thank The Fashionista Next Door. She responded to my blog questions so quickly and I really appreciate it! Its hard sometimes navigating thru the blog world without knowing all the in's and outs. I am learning as I'm going and so far, so good!

Now I can share my weekend with you. Last Sunday, my dear friend Jessica and I attended The Curvy CEO's clothing swap in Bethesda, MD. It was our first swap and can you say I CLEANED UP!??!! I walked out with a trash bag full of goodies, and I won a prize! Most of the clothes are in the cleaners so I will post them a bit later. However, I am posting my new shoes I swapped.

Last weekend, my fiance' and I got our bedroom set, thanks to my Grandma :-) Its SOOO nice and all the pieces were a GREAT price. If you are in need of furniture and are in the MD area, Overstock Furniture is the way to go! Check there before anywhere else.

As far as my outfits, well its funny. I wore my fiance's sweater (2nd Avenue) on Sunday, and then turned around and wore it on Monday to go furniture shopping, LOL! It's super comfy and the thrifted jacket I wore with it really completed the look. I got the printed jacket from 2nd Avenue. SO pleased with the purchase!

So yea, that's about it! I really enjoyed meeting & talking with the group on Sunday. All down to earth and fab! Enjoy the post and talk to you soon. I have another fun weekend coming up :-) Be blessed!

~Nic

The Sweater, The Blazer & the Clutch

The title of this post alone makes me giggle. Let me just tell you that I have had this sweater in my closet for about a year or so. I have probably worn in twice, but I have been wanting to wear it for quite sometime. So, yesterday before I left for work, I was determined to make it work. So, I figured all black (slacks and a top) would allow the sweater to make a 'statement'. Plus, I wanted to wear my taupe-ish heels. Bam! The outfit was a success, in my mind ;-) Then, I had somewhere to go later that evening and I wanted to wear the sweater, and my Love Cortnie clutch that I haven't worn yet. I knew the patterns might be a bit too much soooo, I opted for my thrifted blazer. I took pics of ALL of the outfits and laughed to myself. I have worn the same basic pieces and made 3 outfits. I LOVE THAT!!

I get excited when I can recycle items and accessories and things. I am really enjoying shopping my closet lately as well. I have some hidden treasures in there I see ;-)

Enjoy and thanks for commenting!

P.S. I got a new camera!!! My "photographer" (the fiance') is still learning how to zoom, focus and all that good stuff, and I am learning how to edit pic using this new software so bare with us ;-) I am SOOO excited to be using my new Nikon ;-)

Weekend Thrifting Part I

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! I know I did, lol. I posted on Twitter that I found a new thrift store in my area (Columbia, MD) called, 2nd Avenue Value Store. I went in there and I was SO impressed. It was beyond organized, the smell was not overwhelming like most thrift stores (lol), and the prices were great!! I went there Friday to just see what it was about and ended up buying a few things. The pics below are from Friday (Part I).

So today (those pics coming in Part II), I took the fiance' and he (and I) went crazy! Sunday's and Monday's are 50% days so can you say, WINNING!!?? Anyway, he loved it, just as I did. We both did some damage but ended up spending about $60 each on 3 bags full of items (each). I knew going in what I needed and I stuck to my "needs". I even purchased a wish list item that I have been dreaming about seemingly FOREVER!--a white tuxedo like blazer :-)

Hope you all enjoy these pics and feel free to comment and let me know how you would rock certain pieces. I love hearing your feedback. Be blessed!

Windy Mess & Something Different

Hey followers! Let me just say that today was SOOO windy. I was trying to take pics outside and the wind was literally making me angry. LOL. You ever try to get that "wind in you hair" pic? Well, I tried and failed! There went my idea for a bunch of outdoor photos. I did manage to get one good one, but finished the rest inside.

Although I have posted this outfit on my page before, (outfit seen HERE) I wanted to do something different and try out my new heels. I usually grab flats because they're without a doubt more comfy to me than heels. But, I wanted to jazz it up a bit so, heels it was. I really love these new shoes. They're VERY comfy and just adorable for this season. I also carried another Love, Cortnie original. I just LOVE the pattern of this clutch.

Enjoy the pics and have a great holiday weekend! Save some turkey for me ;-)

Oversized & the New Bag!

Soooo, the weather these past few days has been up and down. And yes, I wore tan....AGAIN! LOL. I am going to break into color slowly but surly, no worries ;-)

Anyway, with the unpredictable weather, I still wanted to look half way cute (lol). So i decided to go with my FAVORITE outfit: my tan over sized sweater, black leggings and flats. An outfit like this is perfect for rainy days, "blah" days, or anything in between. The sweater is by Michael Kors and was 75% off at Macy's when I bought it off season a few summers ago. It is SO comfy and so soft. And leggings, well c'mon. What girl doesn't love them??!! I was also dying to wear my new bag and it was a perfect addition. I fit my usual "purse things" in the bag, AND my books for school! Can you say, "WINNING!!!".
