Thrifty Monday

Welcome to a new week friends!!!

I hope you've all had a GREAT weekend. Mine was pretty good. I spent the majority of it with my family, then spend a few hours with my babe thrifting on Saturday. We stopped by to see a few friends, grabbed a bite and were in the house relaxing by 9:30, LOL! Sunday, we went to church and as usual, the message was uplifting and relateable.

I decided to wear two of my favorite thrifted pieces. My maroon, Coldwater Creek dress ($2.50) was purchased on a thrifting trip in Laurel, MD one weekend. I LOVE the slits in the dress, as well as the fit. It hugs my body just right! The leopard jacket (which is very lightweight) is form 2nd Avenue in Columbia. As you already know, I am a sucker for anything animal print ;-) I added my thrifted necklace and glasses (99 cents) to complete the look.

My next look is from last weekend. My fiance' and I were asked by our good friends to host their wedding reception. With pleasure, we accepted and I immediately was on a hunt for a lavender/purple dress, per her request. I could not find anything lavender but I remembered I had a purple dress hanging in my closet. I purchased this dress form 2nd Avenue months ago for $3.50 and have been wanting to wear it for quite sometime now. The shoes were $14.99 from Marshalls and the earrings are my moms. Perfect look, huh?

FBF: Down to Business

Happy Friday people!! You already know its time for FBF so I will make this short and sweet.

I am LOVING both looks, as well as my own creations. Garcelle Beauvais is always so classy and chic, while Wendy Raquel Robinson is sassy and always fashion forward. In my mind, the first look is appropriate for a holiday/special event party for work. Not too many frills, but just enough color and bling to make a statement. The second look I adore; its very me. I say this because its fashion forward, yet with the pop of green and the grey slacks, I feel that it makes the look reflects personal style. It's more than your basic "leopard and black" and I like that. I can definitely see this as a day look for the office, as well as an after work dinner/happy hour look. Which is YOUR fave???

Have a blessed weekend and be safe!

The Complete Look

Good afternoon friends!! Before I get into this post, I just want to say thank you ALL so much for your kind words on my most recent post. I really appreciate the support and love; it truly touched my heart.

Today's post is short and to the point. I just wanted to share the rest of my leopard & black look with you. I purchased the dress at Target a few weeks ago and I've worn it 3 different ways. I thought about doing another dress challenge (last one HERE), and I even wanted to include some of my readers/fellow bloggers. But life got crazy busy so, I said hey. I'll just share how I styled this dress sporadically throughout my blog.

I hope you enjoy the look, and be sure to check back tomorrow for Facebook Friday. I'm sure you'll love it! Until then, be blessed & take care.

Facebook Friday: Denim & Lace

Well hello there!!! It's GREAT to be back!!! I've missed you all and I pray all has been well with you. As most of you know, I was in FL last week for my sisters national pageant. I am happy to say that she won her title and the trip was nothing short of AMAZING! I met a lot of great people, lil sis had a ball, and so did the fam. I will do an in depth post a bit later but that's a brief overview ;-)

I decided to take another week off from blogging, just to regroup in hopes to come back strong and better than ever! Sometimes is good to step away from things...it gives your mind a break and allows you to catch up on other things.

Now let's get to today's Facebook Friday! These two outfits remind me of what I wore while in FL. I was determined to be super comfy during the day because I knew I'd be running around. The first is such a classic summery look---denim, colorful bottoms and minimal jewelry. I added the oxfords and bulky watch in my recreation to give it a masculine look, yet included simple gold studs and a nude/pink lip to give it that feminine touch. The second look is another simple look to achieve. Skinny jeans are a MUST HAVE (for all seasons), and when paring it with a lace top it adds a romantic look. The animal print flats are fun, and the crochet bag screams SUMMER!

As usual, I love them both but my fave is Rachel Roy. I'm really into colorful denim/pants this season and denim is always a plus. Which is YOUR favorite???

FBF: Polka Dots & Leopard

Soooooo, guess what? Today is FRIDAY!!!! I am so ready to start the weekend. I have a few things planned. I'm most looking forward to chilling out and maybe doing some thrifting while in Delaware. The fiance' and I are headed to his hometown to attend a baby shower. I asked if we could stop by a few thrift stores and he agreed. So, hopefully, we will have time to do so.

As you know, today on the blog its Facebook Friday! I picked two fun looks to recreate; one with polka dots, the other with leopard and color. Of course, I threw my own spin on both looks---wouldn't be me if I didn't ;-) I'm really feeling both trends this season and I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect polka dot dress, and some leopard pants (suggestions welcome)! Are you into these trends for Spring/Summer 2012? Which look(s) can you see yourself wearing?

Enjoy the pics and have a blessed day!

Turquoise & Black

Short and sweet post today! I hope all of you had a great day and HAPPY MAY 1st ;-) Can you believe its May already??? Jeeze....Anyway, here in MD, the weather was a bit warm so instead of a sundress, I wore my cropped Salvation Army pants (also seen, HERE). I am in love with these pants. They are so soft and they move right along with my body; they're the best! My accessories are really what (I think) made my outfit. All of which are thrifted or from Ebay. Enjoy the pics and ttys!!!

PS I'm submitting this look to, Work it Wednesday. See other looks and even enter your own, HERE!

Happy Sunday!! I've had a busy and fun weekend, but I did want to share a quick outfit post with you. Today, I went to church (as I do every Sunday) and had a great time. The sermon was right on point, and I felt as if the Pastor was speaking directly to me. I truly feel blessed and ready to start the week with a great attitude! Enjoy the outfit and have a wonderful rest of the evening and a productive week! XXOO...

Weekend Fun!!

HELLO everyone!!! I am so glad to be blogging again. It seems like my page has been thru some stuff these last few days. I wil spare you the details, lol...but I do want to thank The Fashionista Next Door. She responded to my blog questions so quickly and I really appreciate it! Its hard sometimes navigating thru the blog world without knowing all the in's and outs. I am learning as I'm going and so far, so good!

Now I can share my weekend with you. Last Sunday, my dear friend Jessica and I attended The Curvy CEO's clothing swap in Bethesda, MD. It was our first swap and can you say I CLEANED UP!??!! I walked out with a trash bag full of goodies, and I won a prize! Most of the clothes are in the cleaners so I will post them a bit later. However, I am posting my new shoes I swapped.

Last weekend, my fiance' and I got our bedroom set, thanks to my Grandma :-) Its SOOO nice and all the pieces were a GREAT price. If you are in need of furniture and are in the MD area, Overstock Furniture is the way to go! Check there before anywhere else.

As far as my outfits, well its funny. I wore my fiance's sweater (2nd Avenue) on Sunday, and then turned around and wore it on Monday to go furniture shopping, LOL! It's super comfy and the thrifted jacket I wore with it really completed the look. I got the printed jacket from 2nd Avenue. SO pleased with the purchase!

So yea, that's about it! I really enjoyed meeting & talking with the group on Sunday. All down to earth and fab! Enjoy the post and talk to you soon. I have another fun weekend coming up :-) Be blessed!

My "Dream Dress" Weekend

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was great :-) I spent it doing my hair, cleaning up my room, went to dinner with a friend, and then church Sunday with my fiance'. I also have the best news---Sunday afternoon, my family and I went dress shopping and I found my dream dress. I cried like a baby when I put it on and saw myself in the mirror. I knew I HAD TO HAVE IT! I'd been dreaming about that dress since the first time I saw it. So I knew it had to be THE ONE. I never thought I would get emotional over a dress but, you never know until you are in the moment.

With that huge purchase out of the way, I can breathe a bit easier and focus on the little things that will go into the wedding. Finding my dress was the highlight of my weekend and I must say my family (mom, dad, grandma and little sis) were so supportive. They sat there as I tried on gown after gown. I have the best family, ever. I cannot wait until my wedding day *blushing*

I also saw my girl Cortnie from, Style Lust pages this weekend. I picked up an order for myself, as well as a few other clutches for Christmas gifts. She has two new bags on her Etsy site. To see them, click HERE or HERE. She is such a sweetheart :-)

Below are pics I wore to church, as well as Sunday afternoon to go dress hunting. Enjoy!

Blessings :-)

Weekend Thrifting Part II

Happy Monday to you all!!

I got off early today and I am so ready to get comfy and relax. Before my relaxation begins, here is the rest of my thrifting "haul". Let me just say I am in LOVE with my white blazer and my cosmetic bag (it was just 90 cents)!!! I also purchased a rain coat that does not photograph well but, I did snap pic of the fabric/design ;-)

Enjoy and again, feel free to tell me my how you think I should style these piece. Be blessed!
