Life isn't a Sprint...

Good morning and thank goodness its almost the weekend! I hope you all are having a productive and blessed week so far. As previously mentioned, mine has been quite busy but great nonetheless.

I've had a lot on my mind lately  and found myself extremely emotional and overwhelmed last night. You ever feel that sometimes everything just builds up, and you just want to burst? Well, I sure did...burst into tears. It's strange because I am a very happy person and I am extremely blessed. However, life sometimes has a way of knocking the winds out of you. At times like that, you just need to let it out (cry, scream, whatever), regroup, and pray. Life isn't a sprint...I keep reminding myself that. It's a marathon and it matters not how quick you get to your destination. It's the path in which you take to get there. I am so blessed to have the support system that I do. We all need reassurance at times...

I didn't meant to make this a long drawn out post but, I did feel the need to share that with you all. I like to be honest and open with you all. It's venting for me and who knows; maybe my story can help someone. You never know. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day, and enjoy the outfit pics. Be blessed, stay strong, and don't forget to smile ;-)

Latley, Part II....& Today

Hope all is well with all of my followers :-)

Before I tell you a little about what I am going to post, I want to thank Corie for helping me spruce up my blog! Her blog, "It's My Tatse", is definitely a great read so when you have some time, check it out and follow her :-)

Now onto some of Nic's Picks ;-) Last week, my 9-year-old sister wore the cutest Baby Phat one piece outfit. I had to take a picture of it because deep down, I wish that there was one in my size, lol. I also had some time to thrift at my local Goodwill store. I wasn't planning on going, but I figured I would stop in and see what was new. I purchased a gold necklace (which I can/will use as a bracelet), a VERY cute animal print skirt, a blouse, a pair of wedges and the Cheetah Girls CD for my sister. All that cost me $15.95. Needless to say, I left a happy camper.

I also purchased a pair of flats (which I live in) from a shoe store in Towson, MD called, Deichmann. They are the cutest and most comfortable! I also wanted to try a new nail color and saw a few lovely bloggers trying the nail polish, Essie. I chose 2 colors to try; Sand Tropez (1st) and Ballet Slipper (2nd). LOVE THEM!

Lastly, today's outfit is what I like to call a "Remix Outfit". I wore this romper a while back when the hot weather first started (see photo here). Today, I added a different cardigan (thanks to Mommy) and difference accessories. Hope you like!

Thanks again for all the support & comments. Be blessed!

This & That

So I am home early, out of the hotness this afternoon and I have a lot of random ideas. First, with my outfit today. I literally threw it on because I overslept. It doesn't photograph as well as I would like but, oh well! It was comfy and for the little time I was out, it served its purpose.

Also, a few posts back I showed you all the items I ordered from Asos. Well, unfortunately when I returned the items they no longer had my size. So, I am back to the drawing board. But I did find some jeans in my trunk, yes my trunk, that I forgot to send to the cleaners to be hemmed. So hopefully that will help my jean collection a bit. In the meantime, I've been eyeing a few things on the Asos website and I am determined to order them by next week. With Father's Day and my little sisters bday coming up, I have to budget so by next week, I will be able to treat myself to a few things.

Enjoy the pics and items and stay cool!

Romper Weather

So needless to say, today was a HOT one. I figured what better outfit than a cute romper??? And to top it off, the romper has pockets. I am a sucker for pockets on dresses, skirts...anything!

As you can tell form my posts, I am a very simple girl and I rarely show skin. But when the weather permits, skin does show. In a tasteful way of course ;-) In keeping with my simplicity, I just paired the outfit with a cardigan and jewelry, all from previous posts. As well as my "Jesus Sandals" as my bf calls them, LOL

Enjoy the pics and the lovely weather. I am so thankful it didn't rain by the way ;-) Talk to ya soon!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Hey everyone!!

As some of you know who follow me on Twitter, I was in a car accident last week and I have not really been in the mood to dress my best. However, I am doing better and I with the help of physical therapy and some meds, lol, I will be back to posting in no time. Thankfully, the accident wasn't as bad as it could have been.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things that I have pulled out for the season. I am a HUGE lover of flats and accessories, and especially sandals when the weather is warm. So, I hope you enjoy and have a great Tuesday.

Springtime Blues

So, I haven't been posting many of my own fashions this week because the semester is ending soon and I've been super busy with this group project. Also, I had oral surgery this morning so I was not feeling all that great as far as fashion is concerned :-/ This is why I decided to name this post, Springtime Blues. I am definitely blue right about now with a numb lip and swollen jaw, lol.

Anyway, I'll be back to posting my original looks this weekend. I have a few events to go to so my inspiration will be back :-)

~Nic

P.S. I see the post tag says "leather skirt". Um, lol, I love leather but I definitely would look for a cottown or linen material for the tie-dye outfit. Just f.y.i. ;-)
