Be Still

Happy Thursday all!

Today's post features non other than, ME! LOL...it's been a while since I've done an outfit post so I am super excited to post this one. I wore this outfit to my friends Bridal Shower (see story HERE) and won best dressed :-) The theme was Sex and the City and I decided to dress 'like' Miranda. I feel that my dress is somewhat Miranda-ish. During the last season of the show, she really came into her own as far as style and she wore a lot of color, patterns, dresses and heels. So this is why I decided to go with this dress. What do you think? Miranda enough for you??

Before I go, I just want to share something. I attended Tuesday Night prayer this week and I feel compelled to share a bit of what touched me that night. As I sat there in the huge auditorium, there were people around me of all different races and backgrounds yet there was something we all had in common. At one point or another, we felt tired, worn out and stressed. Different people shared their prayer requests and prayer testimonies with the group and while listening, I began to realize that people in this world are really burnt out. Times are tough and stress levels are ridiculously high. As a result, people are getting divorced, suffering from depression, stress or worse. The minister had us sit in meditation/prayer towards the end of the service and all that you heard was the sound of the organ. I sat there...still. Quiet; making my prayer request known to God and tearing up while praying for others. I was able to really take the time and talk to God. And as the tears flowed, I knew He was listening. I was definitely in His presence. The whole day had gone by and that was the first time I'd taken to really sit and talk and focus on Him. It was powerful and it was something that I realized I needed to do more of.

Sometimes taking time out to just sit and focus on Him can calm us. We live in a world with constant movement and we all need to slow down. It doesn't matter if you take time to pray, sit in silence with the TV off, put your laptop and phone away for 30 mins...whatever it is, being still is so necessary.  Take time out of each day for yourself. Even if its 15 minutes, do it! Don't let this world drive you crazy and don't let this world get the best of you.

Be still, and know that I am God... Psalm 46:10

My Weekend in Pictures

Happy Tuesday!!! I hope you all had a relaxing and chill Memorial Day weekend. I honestly can't say I did a lot, LOL. My mission was to CHILL and I did just that! I spent most of the weekend with my family and my fiance' and we lounged around, watched DVD's, played some games, and at good food ;-)

I hope you enjoy the few pics that I was able to snap. Take care and don't forget to keep up with me HERE and HERE ;-)

PS I'm going to link this to Work it Wednesday ...I am actually working from home for a few days so that counts, right??? ;-)

Fancy Pants

Happy GOOD FRIDAY to you all! Today is such a beautiful day and I hope you all have sometime to enjoy it. My post today features a pair of my favorite pants. These thrifted, hot pink pants are so comfortable! The first time I wore them was (HERE). It's funny because when I purchased them, it took me forever to style them but now that its Springtime, I've got so many outfits planned around them. On this particular day, I started out wearing them with sandals and another Love, Cortnie clutch (see HERE) but when I went out later that evening, I threw my heels on with them to give it a more chic and "grown up" look, LOL. This is such a light and flowy outfit and I absolutely love it. I was also excited to wear my one of a kind cuff bracelet. It was my mothers and she decided to give it to me after I kept asking to borrow it ;-) Although it look heavy, its really light and goes with just about anything. However, when I wear it I like to keep the rest of my accessories simple so the stone in the middle stands out.

Enjoy the pics and enjoy the day. Be blessed!

More Color!

Hey everybody!! So I decided to shake it up a bit. After being featured as the Fashion Bombshell of the Day, (see post HERE) I started thinking about some of the comments. You know how we say, "I don't care what people say or think about me". Well, in a way I don't and in a way I do. I like to get feedback and constructive criticism, just not ignorant and hurtful comments. All that to say, I took a few of the comments to heart and really thought about how I can incorporate more color into my wardrobe. As well as, how to show off my best assets in a tasteful way.

So I've had this thrifted skirt for a loooong time and I've NEVER worn it. I posted about it HERE ages ago. I went form being able to fit it, to not being able to fit it and now, it fits again! Which means all this working out and changed eating habits is working after all ;-) I added a colorful/floral sweater with it, and topped it off with my new nude pumps. The shoes are like a dream...they feel SO good. I received a lot of compliments on the outfit and the fiance' was LOVING this skirt. So I guess you can say I am in the process of beginning to embrace more color, as well as embracing my curves. I absolutely LOVE the outfit and I plan to wear it to church sometime soon. It's such a transitional outfit---work, date night, church, etc

Enjoy the pics, and be blessed!
