Thrifty Monday

Welcome to a new week friends!!!

I hope you've all had a GREAT weekend. Mine was pretty good. I spent the majority of it with my family, then spend a few hours with my babe thrifting on Saturday. We stopped by to see a few friends, grabbed a bite and were in the house relaxing by 9:30, LOL! Sunday, we went to church and as usual, the message was uplifting and relateable.

I decided to wear two of my favorite thrifted pieces. My maroon, Coldwater Creek dress ($2.50) was purchased on a thrifting trip in Laurel, MD one weekend. I LOVE the slits in the dress, as well as the fit. It hugs my body just right! The leopard jacket (which is very lightweight) is form 2nd Avenue in Columbia. As you already know, I am a sucker for anything animal print ;-) I added my thrifted necklace and glasses (99 cents) to complete the look.

My next look is from last weekend. My fiance' and I were asked by our good friends to host their wedding reception. With pleasure, we accepted and I immediately was on a hunt for a lavender/purple dress, per her request. I could not find anything lavender but I remembered I had a purple dress hanging in my closet. I purchased this dress form 2nd Avenue months ago for $3.50 and have been wanting to wear it for quite sometime now. The shoes were $14.99 from Marshalls and the earrings are my moms. Perfect look, huh?

Springtime Floral

Happy Hump Day!! This is a quick post of what I wore this weekend. I haven't been posting outfits in my last few entries but, I really wanted to share this one. I wore this to my little sisters fashion show (see post HERE). The F21 dress has been in my closet for a bit so I am VERY happy I finally got around to styling and wearing it. I don't know why it's been sitting there, as nice as its been outside...I absolutely love it and the fit is perfect. And it has pockets ;-)

When I was putting the outfit together in my mind, I felt that it was a bit all over the place. However, when I looked in the mirror it worked for me. I wanted to be comfortable so I opted for my Toms and matched it with my favorite Love, Cortnie clutch. My mom said it was too many patterns, and my sister and fiance' said it worked. LOL; I love having my family's input. In the end, I guess lil sis and my babe won ;-)

Enjoy & have a wonderful evening! Be blessed...XO!

~Nic

Something with Plaid

Hey friends!! Hope everyone is well. Sorry in advance for the pics, once again; I am hoping Santa brings me a battery for my Nikon D70 for Christmas ;-) In the mean time I am using my backup camera, my older Nikon Coolpix. Pics aren't coming off how I want but, I must keep posting!! LOL.

Anyway, this is just an outfit I put on last night when the babe and I hung out. The shirt was my grandfathers :-) As I have said before, I always LOVE wearing his clothes. I feel so close to him when I do. The brown cape I purchased in Greece is one of my favorite purchases .It can also be seen HERE. Lastly, I wore layered necklaces from F21. Funny because in my Santa Baby post, I posted a Love necklace that I wanted. I found this silver one hiding in my jewelery box last night; how awesome!! I already had one and didn't even know ;-)

Also, below is a drawing that was done by, The Cherry on Top, blogger. Its based on the outfit I wore HERE. Don't you just love it! I have seen other bloggers with their drawings and knew I had to have one. what talent! Click the picture to visit the page, or the blog name above.

Until next time, be blessed and enjoy the post!

~Nic

Lazy Post...{Shame on me, lol}

Sooo I know I promised pics of my outfits from last week BUT (lol), I just wanted to relax and did not even bother uploading and editing them. But, no worries. I will be better at documenting my work day gear as time goes on. Last week was my first full week of working the new gig and I must say, I did a great job ;-)

I did however take pics of my dinner date. First, my fiance' and I were able to spend some time together. We decided to have dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Tomato Palace. Prices are great and the food/service is always wonderful.

Saturday, I attended an event at the Greater Washington Goodwill and had fun. I was able to shop with coupons and find great deals, while meeting some really nice people. I took my cousin with me and we had a ball. That evening, I hosted my company's Christmas party and it went very well. I was so proud of myself ;-) It was a lot to do but I had so much fun planning it. I did post the phone pic that was taken of me. Not the best quality but, I wanted to give an idea of my outfit. I went for simple, classic, and comfy.

To say the least, my weekend was very eventful and I am just exhausted. So blame the lack of event photos on my laziness and tiredness, LOL! Anywho, I hope you all enjoy the pics I did post. I will be posting my Goodwill finds soon so check back for that.  Be good and talk to you soon!

~Nic

P.S. Don't forget; once I reach 100 followers, I will be hosting a giveaway. I'm at 99 so I am almost there!!

On a Rainy Wednesday

Happy Wednesday friends!

Although the weather was pretty yucky all day, I still made it a pretty good one. It's been cool lately and I am excited to bring out sweaters and cardigans. I absolutely LOVE fall. From tights, sweaters, leather jackets...ugh! I love it all and I cannot wait to show off more of my fall wardrobe ;-)

Lately, I have been trying to get adjusted to my new job and schedule and I can finally say I am back on track. I am figuring out my new routine as I go along but all in all, things are getting less hectic; thank goodness!

I also want to thank my new Facebook followers; your support is greatly appreciated! If you're not following, "like" my page HERE. Thanks in advance!

Hope you all are having a good week! Talk to you soon ;-)

Shoes & Such

Hello everyone, and a special hello to my new followers :-) I have been in VA & ATL for the past week & 1/2 and  I am back and ready to share some recent purchases I have made.

My birthday was August 11th (Happy Birthday to all my fellow Leos!!) and it was spent in Reston, VA. My sister was in her first pageant, National American Miss, and she did an AMAZING job! She walked away with quite a few trophies, crowns, banners, prizes and cash!! We were all so proud of her :-)

I was also able to do some shopping while in VA. I purchased a few pair of sandals from Aldo and slid through Forever 21 to grab some accessories. Most of these purchases were bday gifts via gift cards from my great friends & family, and via my boo who spoiled me, just a little ;-) But I must say that getting a new computer from my parents was the most shocking gift. I was SO surprised and I am so thankful. They're the best!

While in ATL, I didn't do much shopping, but I did do a lot of sightseeing. I never knew there were so many things to see in ATL. It's been years since I've been. I was also happy I was able to see my good friend, Michelle while there. Seeing her was definitely a highlight of my trip. Those pics will be in my next post so check back.

All in all,I had a wonderful few weeks and I am so happy and blessed to have so many good people in my life. Turning 25 was fun and exciting and I am now ready more than ever to start a new chapter in my life. I am destined to be great and to do great things.

With that said, enjoy the pics and be blessed!!

Here is yet another short and simple post. I have been really busy these past few days with getting ready for vacations, helping my mother prepare my little sister for her upcoming pageant, and making some personal plans. So with all that going on, I haven't posted in a few days. But here I am, back with an outfit that I hope you all like. It was a very simple and easy outfit so enjoy and I will talk to you all soon! Be blessed!

Latley, Part II....& Today

Hope all is well with all of my followers :-)

Before I tell you a little about what I am going to post, I want to thank Corie for helping me spruce up my blog! Her blog, "It's My Tatse", is definitely a great read so when you have some time, check it out and follow her :-)

Now onto some of Nic's Picks ;-) Last week, my 9-year-old sister wore the cutest Baby Phat one piece outfit. I had to take a picture of it because deep down, I wish that there was one in my size, lol. I also had some time to thrift at my local Goodwill store. I wasn't planning on going, but I figured I would stop in and see what was new. I purchased a gold necklace (which I can/will use as a bracelet), a VERY cute animal print skirt, a blouse, a pair of wedges and the Cheetah Girls CD for my sister. All that cost me $15.95. Needless to say, I left a happy camper.

I also purchased a pair of flats (which I live in) from a shoe store in Towson, MD called, Deichmann. They are the cutest and most comfortable! I also wanted to try a new nail color and saw a few lovely bloggers trying the nail polish, Essie. I chose 2 colors to try; Sand Tropez (1st) and Ballet Slipper (2nd). LOVE THEM!

Lastly, today's outfit is what I like to call a "Remix Outfit". I wore this romper a while back when the hot weather first started (see photo here). Today, I added a different cardigan (thanks to Mommy) and difference accessories. Hope you like!

 Cardigan: Bobeau

Thanks again for all the support & comments. Be blessed!
