Whenever there is a holiday, I get sentimental because to me, holiday's are all about family. As far as Thanksgiving, it has been a little different for my family ever since my Fafa passes away. Although we are still a close family, we have been dining out for the past few years, or heading over to another family members house. Last year, we were on a cruise ship headed to Greece. So, we are just trying different things and trying to make new traditions. I actually like it because its good to make new memories and my family and I make the occasion special anywhere we go :-) This year, we decided this year to dine at Ruth's Chirs. And on Sunday, we will all pitch in and cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal. A little backwards to some but hey, it works for us and that is ALL that matters :-)
While at dinner, we went around the table and said what we were thankful for and I got so emotional. Just thinking back on the year I have has thus far, I had to stop and thank God for them. I also had to thank Him for the addition our family will soon get; my fiance. He fits in with my family so well, and they have welcomed him with open arms. they genuinely love and support him and for that, I am even more thankful.
With all that said, I will wrap up this post with a few pictures. The first few are old school shots of various family members and the others are from this evening. Be blessed and talk to you soon.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! I think it is so special to have family traditions. You are right in that you are so blessed to have a wonderful fiance that your family has embraced and already accepted as their own. That is very rare these days. I know you probably hear this all the time but you are most def a "mini me" of your mother. haha Kiah
